New Ghanaian Inspired MacBook Cases

When I heard that Apple was teaming up with Tina Tangalakis to produce a line of Ghanaian inspired MacBook cases I was over the moon.  No, I'm not Ghanaian, but I almost feel like an honorary Ghanaian.  My husband, who was born and raised in Ghana, has taught me a lot about the culture.  I was glad that, through this new partnership between Apple and Tina, Ghana will be in the limelight all over the world.

So, who is Tina Tangalakis?

Tina Tangalakis
Tina Tangalakis was born and raised in Los Angeles, California.  She went on a volunteer trip to Hohoe, Ghana that would change her life forever.  While in Ghana, Tina fell in love with the people and the culture, so much so that she decided to combine her new love, Ghana, with her passion for design.  This combination of loves created Della, a "woman-owned and woman-run" business which works directly with West Africa and its women.  Della provides jobs, education and skill training to its employees.  Furthermore, every dollar that Della earns goes to providing "employment, education and financial stability for poverty-stricken women in Ghana".  The women employed by Della receive a steady and fair income, and they are provided education on saving and on entrepreneurship.  Other benefits enjoyed by Della employees include  national healthcare, national social security benefits, weekly classes in money management and weekly classes in literacy.
