African Fashion Week London 2012: Day One Recap

This weekend, Africa's most renowned designers and most stunning models will be strutting their stuff during this weekend's African Fashion Week London 2012 ("AFWL").  African Fashion Week is the perfect blend of Western and African cultures whose designs will surely stun you, and leave you yearning for a piece all for yourself.  The fact that the fashion "week" is only really two days is mildly confusing, but with such dazzling fashions about to wow, us who's complaining?

Some of the designers showcased at this year's, one-of-a-kind, fashion events include 50 talented designers, and 100 gorgeous models.  Among those designers is Adebayo Jones and Trish O.  Adebayo Jones is very well known for creating his own fabrics and for designing extremely lavish gowns.  Trish O. makes beads, and specializes in jackets, bridal wear, blouses and African dresses.  Her clothes are elegant and can be utilized for all occasions.  As is illustrated by these two designers, by creating their own beads and fabrics, their talents and skills go well beyond simply designing clothes.

There are dozens of other very talented designers taking part in this year's AFW.  To celebrate them and their incredible talents and skills, here are some highlights from today, the first day of African Fashion Week London  2012...

Check in tomorrow for all the hottest looks from the last day of African Fashion Week London 2012.
